Former Employee – worked at Questrade full-time for more than a year
Pros – The people are fun to work with and fantastically loyal to the company. The company has multiple objectives and projects underway at all times so the work is varied and challenging.
Cons – The company has too many projects and priorities so there is little focus and some work gets bogged down by non stop meeting requests.
Advice to Senior Management – Focus on on perfecting a smaller set of products and services. Follow the 80/20 rule.

Former Employee – worked at Questrade as an intern for less than a year
Pros – - interesting people
- facility is good
- hours are good
- Seems like if you work hard AND build positive relationships with your superiors, you will get rewarded
- education reimbursement (CSI, CFA, etc.)
Cons – - Very messy interdepartmental and intradepartmental communication; messages consistently get lost somewhere. Management has taken notice of this and things are changing slowly
- Poor training and screening; some people are way overqualified than others in the same job title. The same is true the other way around
Advice to Senior Management – - Quality is just as important as quantity. Take care of your employees and you will have lower turnover rate in some of your departments. In that same train of thought, you should also provide higher quality service to your clients
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at Questrade full-time for more than a year
Pros – Ability to move up within the company is largely available.
Cons – Employees are often left in the dark. Management can not be trusted as they use their employees as scapegoats too often. If you are looking for a company committed to you and vice versa, this is not it!
Advice to Senior Management – Be more honest and open with employees as they only want to be successful in their jobs before you let them go. You tend to throw out employees all too quick due to cheaper choices or personal conflicts. You keep the wrong ones and let go of the quality ones too many times. Re-evaluate who, and why you bring into the company and out. Give your employees the same respect they give you.
