I have been working at STMicroelectronics full-time for more than 8 years

Pros – Company is very nice, and give a lots of growth in terms of technical ladder. i spend 9 years there and those would always remains the most cherisable work moments.

Cons – Need to be proactive and advance planning is needed. Employee engagement could be one of the striking factor.

Pros – ST is a good company which take care of its employee. People are technical sound and very friendly. Management is also good.

Cons – there is no cons to the company.

Pros – Provides an opportunity to balance work and life - usually a relaxed work culture, typically European.
Good company time policies - employee friendly

Cons – Very slow execution - not able to cope up with demanding market, loosing business
Not a pay master - because of its own financial condition, may not expect very good hikes - single digit avg hike for last couple of years.

Advice to Senior Management – Pls increase work pressure and salaries as well
Improve speed of execution - especially for puchase, any change proposal in policy etc.

Pros – good opportunities to work on core device drivers. Perfect place to work as a senior employee with great work/life balance. Employee friendly.

Cons – company doesn't seem to to be doing well in terms of business. if you have aspirations to work aggressively and keep moving ahead, ST is not place for you.

Advice to Senior Management – Please do periodic follow up of senior employees. Employees who after vast experience are not able to justify their salaries should either be placed in a different profile or asked to leave. There is no point in keeping liabilities.

Pros – - good working environment in few groups for self-motivated people
- Technically sound seniors

Cons – - Large number of groups have repetitive jobs that add no value to one's own skill set
- Technically sound people have stayed back because there is no other option in north india, else attrition rate would have been much higher
- Poor time-to-market of IPs and products
- Laid back attitude in most of the groups
- Over the years the freshers talent pool has reduced a lot in quality

Advice to Senior Management – - Take stock of the situation, there is a lot of scope of improvement in productivity
- Have longer vision rather than finding short-term solutions

Cons – No sense of career direction, managers are stuck and dont allow people to grow beyond them.
