I have been working at Sabre full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Friendly atmosphere.
Managers don't pressurize employees unnecessarily; they respect your work-life balance.
    Good salary.
It's not all about pleasing the customers. Employees matter.
Good time off and work from home policies.

    Cons

Heavy bureaucracy - difficult to get what you need.
Blanket policies from senior executives stymie and frustrate you.
Very slow pace of product development - it can take years to perform a single product enhancement.
Little or no innovation, in spite of explicitly stated company vision and values.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You have to invest time and resources in order to innovate and do new things, or do things more efficiently. The current short term oriented thinking means that nothing changes and things will never more any faster or products get any better.

I have been working at Sabre full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible work timings & Work from home option

    Cons

check thelayoff.com for sabre-holdings read the history of firing employees, also no ethics followed when firing employee they don't get chance to say Bye, even treated badly. (08-Jan-14) one of the mass layoff around 60 in a day.
Manager driven culture no policies, favoritism.
No Transparency or Openness , to many hidden parameters.
Bangalore Center has created few custom designation and call them as desk title, and in letter they give previous title.
every 3 years top mgmt changes and restructuring happens .....
no even pay structure for same level.
    more manager per employee ratio

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider providing shares to all employees & not only for key people.
allow 360 degree review for appraisal and not just accept what manager puts in the tool.
    no skip level meetings.

    I worked at Sabre full-time

    Pros

Work on challenging business problems using some of the leading technologies in the market place.
One of the market leaders in the space they operate; in the top 3 slots is most of the areas they compete in.
Good work culture with work - life balance
Open management style: leaders who have moved back from the US a big plus

    Cons

Not as nimble in adopting change.
Need to simplify their organization structure; not aligned with the areas they service resulting in too many unnecessary hurdles in getting work completed and delivered.
As a a technology company, need to be more technology focussed

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Simplify the organization structure on the lines of product / customer deliverables. Current structure m ore of a hurdle than a facilitator.

Create technology evangelism in the company where employees are aware, try out and quickly adopt to new technologies.
