I worked at Sam's Club part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Friendly co-workers who understand when you have an issue that needs resolved. Easy-going customers and familiar faces.

    Cons

Every person in management is basically related to each other. Couples as supervisors and their best friends as managers. Don't expect to advance any time soon. You will have to pick up the slack of management on a daily basis, but this happens at most companies so nothing out of the ordinary. Low starting pay that you cannot live off of. Nearly impossible to get a full-time position.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring in more than half a dozen full-timers for a building that contains over 100 workers. People will focus on their work more than goofing around and focus more on being there for the long run.

I have been working at Sam's Club full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

job security and plenty of room for career advancement.

    Cons

As management sometimes work/life balance is not where it needs to be.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to develop the associates to help take over as you see turnover in Management, bench strength is not where the company needs it to be.

I have been working at Sam's Club full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The company gives you many opportunities to advance your career.
Flexible schedule if you happen to be a student.
Recognition and positive feedback for good performance and additional training if needed.
    Competitive wage.

    Cons

As a manager, sometimes it's hard to create a work/life balance.
If every associate in the club doesn't work together as a team for sales and profit growth throughout the year, then a "Sams Share" bonus isn't achieved.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Associates would like to see more individual recognition other than a monthly associate of the month.
Possibly bring back merit raises for an incentive.
