Pros – Small company environment allows you to gain experience and exposure to many different areas of the pharmaceutical industry. If you work hard and build advocates you can be a part of many different committees i.e. sales compensation, sales training and development etc. and build your skill sets
Cons – When times are good you can be lulled into thinking that you are a highly valued team member. Like most pharmaceutical companies there are challenges i.e. products going generic, lost court cases etc. Hard work, self sacrifice, and top performance will not save you if a patent is lost etc. There is just not enough revenue streams to endure a product miss.
Advice to Senior Management – More attention needs to be given to the field. Home office rules all here and the people on the front lines will usually take the brunt of any cutbacks, failed marketing plans etc. Additionally, the leader of HR and Sales Training has way to much influence over sales operations and the organization. Additionally there is a surprisingly high amount of gossip originating from the top. Because of this the home office does not have the trust of the front line employees.

Pros – Small Pharma has it's advantages
Cons – Very Limited Pipeline is a problem
Advice to Senior Management – You need to find partnerships with other companies that have permanent value to the company. Don't keep diversifying and stay a GI company.

Meetings very low budget.
Very little promotional funds.
Incompetent management in most areas of the business.
Advice to Senior Management – Be honest with the employees. Pay your sales people what they earn and stop taking away scripts just because you didn't negotiate well.
