Former Employee – worked at Spectranetics
Pros – Everyone at SPNC is friendly and the work is always fast paced. It's hard to get bored working here. Company morale is great, even when working with difficult challenges. People are innovative and driven.
Cons – Sometimes the company seems a little short on people, which can lead to some stress, but overall, Spectranetics seems to be improving over time. They have really bounced back from bigger challenges in the past.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

Current Employee – been working at Spectranetics full-time for less than a year
Pros – Joined Spectranetics near the end of 2012. Very energized team that believes this company can and will grow by creating and innovating important medical solutions. This company walks the talk on attracting and retaining talent. Morale is great, especially compared to where I was.
Cons – Fast growing company can feel a little short on talent and bench strength. We are not deep, but that will improve as the company matures. Talent and depth is improving weekly by adding experience from other (often larger) companies.
Advice to Senior Management – Invest in systems, processes, procedures as growth requires, but keep the small hungry accountable culture intact.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Pros – Great potential in this industry
Cons – Company is very unorganized, resources in the wrong places
Advice to Senior Management – Get organized don't be afraid to use the talent you have, trust the people under you, if you can't trust the people that you hired to do the job that speaks volumes about you as a manager

Current Employee – been working at Spectranetics
Pros – Located in Colorado Springs, CO
Cons – FDA and DOJ troubles
Executives over compensated for a company which has not shown a profit for several years
Product recalls are a quarterly event
Laser technoloy is a small niche market segment, most likely has reached it's growth limit
Advice to Senior Management – Think of ways to get employees more engaged and empowered.

Pros – Fairly relax atmosphere
Decent medical benefits
The company definitely helps improve the quality of life of the people who use the excimer lasers.
Many people today would not have a leg(s) (having them amputated) because of severe peripheral artery diseases or worse.
Cons – Management doesn't really understand how to motivate employees.
Too many chiefs, not enough indians.
The dental benefits could definitely be improved, same coverage as the 1980s
The product works extremely well, it just has not been marketed appropriately or effectively to those who have used it.
Many top level managers are just too inflexible. The primary reason for doing nearly anything is “that’s just the way it’s always been done.” I have heard many people within the company complain that we are just missing too many opportunities because of corporate arrogance. It almost seems the upper management is confusing rigidity for values. There is also an expected resistance when offering new ideas to the company.
Advice to Senior Management – Seek out talent from within the company - Don't be so quick to hire outside people when you have plenty of talent right here
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
