I have been working at Stryker full-time

    Pros

Cool life, nice people because they come through Gallup, Good office, good food.

    Cons

Styrker India has no defined roles. It just wants billing (money) from the divisions and keeps adding people as long as they can mint money for Styker India. Stryker India is not Innovative and do what they're asked to do. I've been to Stryker divisions in the US and have seen a total difference in office environment and Innovation spirit. There's no learning path defined and i agree with the other review on Stryker - You can die as a developer all your life and nobody would notice. The Finance policies are disgusting. They don't care to save employee's money through alternate means life Sodexo passes , employee commute, office cabs (which would save them parking cost also!) etc. Stryker India is alive just because it gets cheap manpower for other Stryker global divisions. Most of the management has no vision for Stryker India.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It's great that we work closely for our divisions and that's why we came together as a Stryker proxy division. But we need to mature and do something great for Stryker as a whole. Our knowledge and proximity to Low cost market isn't leveraged. The management doesn't have vision and guts to do something. They just want to play in the tested waters. Be bold and have some vision for Stryker India. You're a medical device company's branch and being in India you've got no vision to create products for BRICS. People want to work on products from the scratch. We're not HCL, TCS and Satyam. I'm happy i got time to maintain work/ life balance but at the same time, I've not grown much as an individual. You need to respect your old employees and do things to recognize them.

I have been working at Stryker full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Compensation and benefits are good

    Cons

There are many cons in the way managers handle their employee.
Partiality and favouritism is the only way for career growth.
When someone leave, managers will tell others that the person was incapable of doing work and was feeling insecure even if he was a great resource.
Manager or senior people in team may feel offended if you do not wish them "Good Morning"(sic).
Your job is always at risk and your position can close anytime.
    No focus on career path.
The best excuse for anything is "BUDGET IS TIGHT". (It remains TIGHT through out the year but managers some how get to LOOSEN it for their own use)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Treat everyone equal.

I have been working at Stryker full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Good Salary, Free Lunch, Telephone Reimbursement over and above your CTC.

    Cons

    1. You have to be part of certain lobby to get visibility
    2. For IT employees, if you want to remain developer throughout your career, join Stryker
    3. No Long Term Onsite since Stryker India works exactly like contractors to Stryker Global.
    4. Recently they fired 5 people without giving any reasons. The decision was taken because business did not want the specific technology and wanted to go with another one. So from Stryker India, people were fired and currently these people are on 4 months notice and this created panic through out the organization.
    5. High favouritism and Politics.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    1. If you have NO WILL to run Stryker India (SGTC), Please DO NOT hire people in India.
    2. Stryker India needs to have its own leadership team and should not be polarized towards certain people only.

Former Employee - Manager in New Delhi

I worked at Stryker full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Good salary ... HR will offer you anything when they need you. Work and life balance - HR tries to hire the best talent available in the market but hiring managers are not sure what work to be given to the best hires to keep them busy.

    Cons

HR will take 4-6 months to hire the best talent and then in next 6 months the best talent either leaves or asked to leave. TRULY AMAZING WORK CULTURE !

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Clearing a Gallup interview does not mean that an employee can perform all the tasks imagined by his manager (when he himself does not know how to do or get it done).
