Current Employee – been working at SunGard
Pros – Managing a team of dedicated professionals who are focussed in delivery. Direct interactions with external clients. Working on Listed derivatives space.
Cons – Lack of control within India. Control is dictated by segment side persons and they can make arbitrary decisions at times with no reasons for their actions.

Former Employee – worked at SunGard
Pros – You are safe if you are billable.
Good hike no matter you perform or not
Work life balance is good not much pressure
Cons – Bad work and good hike - You will be handicapped
Safe till you are billable...
Bad management and leaders. They are defensive
BU driven company no freedom for any decisions outside BU
Focus on domain knowledge
Advice to Senior Management – Managenment should be work on building strategy to improve quality and take some bold decisions rather than relying on BU
Dont fire good resources if they are not getting billed - Plan for some bench period. It is not easy to get good resources and also to build good name in market if management is not taking any initiative or decisions

Current Employee – been working at SunGard
Pros – Best reasons are good quality of work depending upon the project , good bonuses , competitive salaries. Work environment is good, work- life balance is good.
Cons – Some of the downsides are again not so good work if project is not good , some unnecessary processes, compensation could be better and employee care is ok.
Advice to Senior Management – Employee care could be better for such a good company, unnecessary process should be removed. Compensation could be better for such a big company.

Current Employee – been working at SunGard
Pros – It provides opportunity to work closely with an international team .
Domain knowledge enhancement is possible.
Cons – software processes disorganised.
No focus on software .
Siloed structure with limited growth opportunity.
Too much focus on cost leads to a feeling of working in a sweatshop.
Very tough place to maintain work life balance.
Advice to Senior Management – not sure if there is any chance of major improvement till sungard technology services decides to revamp itself and rethink its position in sungard overall.

Current Employee – been working at SunGard
Pros – Work culture, your colleagues. , not much I can think off.
Cons – Really need to negotiate on Salary, Have to do technical things what your manager say. Incase if he is right, you are saved. if not then blame is on you. If you do your own stuff, you are screwd big time. Have to attend meetings during your weekly offs. No personal nd professional life balance. Its a curse to be a senior member of the team. No job oppertunities. If try for one, they will always look for escalations you did during your entire SunGard career. Lot of Bogus people coming in and spoiling team effort. A very good company for anyone looking for a long stay, no matter any amount of escalations you do, and you do not have any self respect, managers have no guts to kick you out. (As his performance might go for a toss.) Just say sorry, this will never happen again and you are saved, But you argue and managers will make you life hell. there . there is no scope for work you do. Being an L3 you end up unlocking account for others. My worst expirience in my whole career. process is more important that technical things. If you miss SLA due to process, you are gone.
Advice to Senior Management – Think about employees, show some transperancy in recruitment process and salary structure

Current Employee – been working at SunGard
Pros – Good people, salary, and best HR team
Cons – politics in the management. Most of the time you will be working with product managers or directors in the us, but however your performance appraisal will be done project manager in india, who does not have much idea on what we have worked on.
Advice to Senior Management – We need product managers in India not the project managers.
