    Pros

Symantec is know to world, is in fortune 500 companies.

I worked at Symantec full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good work culture but level of greatness can vary from department to department. Decent benefits packages and one of the best in Pune region.

    Cons

There can be lot of politics especially at higher levels. Its kind of true for almost all organizations so not something specific to Symantec. I had 2 good bosses and 1 bad boss in my tenure. i left the organization because of the bad boss.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Weed out some bad fishes, take reorgs seriously and do with an intent of fixing the organizations and not just to match numbers. Have a stable leadership.

I worked at Symantec full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Best office culture that I have seen until now. Immense scope for personal growth if one shows dedication to the work. Lot of scope for technical advancement as well. Office policies are very good in terms of work-life balance. No issues if one has to WFH for genuine reasons. As long as you complete the assignments or raise red flag in advance, the management co-operates.

    Cons

There are multiple products in the company and it is a bit difficult to change team as you have to start afresh with different technology. Management does not consider for a product change unless you push hard.

I have been working at Symantec full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Best Technology; focus on product development; working on cutting edge areas in security, data protection and storage. Quite decent in terms of comp, facilities, working environment, work life balance etc.

    Cons

Going through the transition with lots of changes in last couple of yrs. These changes sometime creates doubts in peoples mind. If you are into it for long term career then the recent short term hiccups should not bother you

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Complete the transition asap and give a sense of direction and vision.
