I worked at The Children's Place full-time for more than a year
Pros – They are a very organized business and you received 17 days of paid vacation and 7 days of paid sick leave
Cons – They rearranged the store quite often and they set sales even more often and had short deadlines that we were expected to meet.
Advice to Senior Management – It would be nice if the people that made the decisions on how the store needed to be set up for sales had actually set them themselves because they were really hard to set and a lot of unneccessary changes.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

I have been working at The Children's Place full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – -Easy to Learn
-Fond of Promotions for hard, dedicated workers
-Flexible Scheduling
-Holiday pay (+Overtime for non-exempt ASM of lower management if available)
-Changing Company to stay competitive
-Loyal Customers
Cons – -Heavy Workload with minimum Payroll
-Physically enduring
-Lack of connections between HQ and store level
-40+ hour weeks
-Lack of Corrective Action for poor performing managers (could be seen a pro)
-Delayed communication between HQ and stores
-Outdated technology used in store
Advice to Senior Management – Never judge a book by its cover. Truly take time to determine who are hard workers, smart workers, result drivers and those with no passion. I understand business and understand reducing payroll- but doing so must come with the understand that workload must be cut accordingly. Those that do meet high expectations make high sacrifices (10-12 hr shifts to catch up since Store Managers are the ONLY free labor) that shouldn't be expected to be made EVERYDAY. Reward them with time to do their job - MANAGE not task. Too many times MANAGERS turn into glorified sales associates. Consider making ASMs non-exempt or putting in more Co-managers.
– I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

I have been working at The Children's Place
Pros – There is nothing positive to say about it.
Cons – Not enough payroll hours to do everything they want you to do.

I worked at The Children's Place part-time for less than a year
Pros – -Easy to balance school with work
-Fast-paced
-Fun environment(customer wise)
-Was OKAY for a part time job and going to school, but still very poor store.
Cons – -Very poor management
-No hours
-No room for growth
-Disorganized
-On-Call shifts, you would HAVE to stay 2 hours after your shift or come in two hours early if they said so.They also had the opportunity to call you in on your days off and you couldn't say no.
Advice to Senior Management – Try treating your employees with some respect and maybe you will get some back.

I have been working at The Children's Place part-time for less than a year
Pros – flexible scheduling, great staff, nice customers, good for people seeking 0-15 hrs
Cons – On calls make you not able to plan your day, shoplifters, manager plays favorites sometimes, not enough hours or pay
Advice to Senior Management – Don't have your stores hire more people seasonally if they are only going to get 5 hours a week. POINTLESS!

I worked at The Children's Place full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – The brand representatives have close family-like relationship within each store. We are cross trained in every aspect of the retail business from direct customer sevice, cash handling, merchandising in addition to shipping and receiving. If retail is your career of choice the company works hard to develop you for upper management postions.
Cons – The environment is extremely task driven. As a result we tend to have a high tunrover rate. If you are not a multi-tasker this is not the ideal enviornment. Their seems to be a lack in communication between the workload our home office requires in a time frame and what we can actually product in the store in that designated time frame.
Advice to Senior Management – I wish HQ would ask brand reps for suggestions on how to improve existing merchandsie or what things would encourage company retention.

I worked at The Children's Place part-time for less than a year
Pros – The managers were wonderful, very friendly and extremely helpful. I loved all but one person I worked with. The kids are adorable that come into the store. Only had a couple rude customers which the manager handled for me. Good employee discount.
Cons – Employees did not get hours even during the holiday. Some weeks I did not get any hours at all and others I was given one day maybe two if I was lucky. No hours means low to no pay.
Advice to Senior Management – Don't hire people if you can't pay them or give them hours.

I worked at The Children's Place full-time for more than a year
Pros – 23 days of PTO, Summer Fridays, Unlimited sick time. Decent Pay....
Cons – There are so many don't think I have enough space.
Advice to Senior Management – Ok lefts begin. Management sucks. They have no clue to what is actually going on. The majority are rude and don't even say hello unless you do first. It is sad that some of them have not grown up from high school and dish out that "Mean Girls" attitude to their employees and treat them like crap. People all have their cliques and if your not up to the standards you are isolated from the group and that is when the great stuff happens if you know what i mean...Company is very political and if you kiss up to the right people you will get ahead. Management and HR totally disregards people are more qualified than the inexperienced brown noses that get promoted. You make call outs and they are never taken into account. God forbid you complain to HR then you get turned into the bad guy and things become even worse. i feel that all of these higher up fools are all connected and have each others backs. The amount of gossip that goes on is more than the actual work that is done. I have seen and heard Senior Management discussing co workers and shredding them to pieces. Totally unprofessional!!! Certain rules apply for some and others get away scott free...I have worked in many places and what I have seen is beyond belief. I always thought that it was bs and that these things don't happen or are only in the movies. Rest assure you will find it at TCP!
