    Advice to Management

Hire a maid crew to come in and deep clean the salon at least once a month. Stop being cheap.

    Pros

I worked for almost 3 years at one of the Central London salons as a Receptionist. I loved my team, and the free haircuts and modelling for senior staff members. I was lucky to work with our area manager and regional manager and also the CEO, which was an honour. The people I met at Toni and Guy are all amazing, including customers.

    Cons

Little or no promotion opportunity as a receptionist

    Pros

They were always flexible with my schedule as I was a student at the time and the environment was always positive.

    Cons

I had to quite after they asked me to relocate to a location that was not worth the commute for the pay.

    Pros

If you'd like unparalleled access to top management TONI&GUY is the place for you. Leadership is extremely active and hardworking. There is a great work life balance, which is uncommon in an age where you're typically required to be on call 24/7.
    Bonus Perks:
TONI&GUY offers stunning workspaces which has actually helped relive stress.
    Female Leadership

    Cons

it is extremely important to have a solid foundation in your field before beginning a career at TONI&GUY. Guidance and training is readily available, but you should be ready to contribute to the team from day one. If you are a recent college graduate, consider interning with this company before you apply for a position.

  10. Meet some amazing people, and some not-so amazing people.

    Pros

-Free hair services for self, family, and friends.
    -40% off most products.
-Meet amazing, promising artists. Some clients are super sweet, and many lovely co-workers.

    Cons

-Overworked, underpaid. Wages based on TX wages which is barely enough for sharing a Los Angeles-based lifestyle with several others.
-Favoritism and lack of consistency with rules.
-Constantly making new and silly rules:
---front desk not allowed to have a garbage can. (Really?)
---front desk is supposed to wear horribly ill-fitting cheap vests, implemented rule AFTER hiring (Really)
---front desk not allowed to sit (8 hour days of standing in place). (REALLY?)
-Director doesn't do a great job with proper communication; reclusive and bullies.
-When hired, was told I would make easy commission. Once hired, I was told it was next to impossible to make that commission.

    Advice to Management

Look at my cons and find room for improvement.

Before joining Toni&Guy as an employee, I regarded the company as a place I'd love to work. Over 5 years before getting hired, I was a client. I loved the people, and they loved me. Once inside, I've found it's not so glamorous.

Treat your employees like people- not like slaves.

  11. Love my job as a Chem tech

    Pros

Easy going, laid back work environment. Clients are easy to work with and you are constantly getting more education. Also the ability to move up in tGe company

    Cons

Working in a mall has its pros and cons. I'd rather the salon not be at the mall..

    Advice to Management

Always be on your teams side.
