I have been working at UCLA

    Pros

Pay is average or low for the work you are doing, but the lower income is offset somewhat by the benefits, including a pension plan and inexpensive healthcare.

    Cons

Mostly just the pay, otherwise working at UCLA is fine. Depending on your department or lab, job security can be tenuous.

I have been working at UCLA part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Beautiful campus, a lot of resources including facility, library, gym, etc.

    Cons

As a full time graduate student you are only allowed to work part-time on campus, which means you get half of minimum wage except during winter or summer breaks.

Sometimes very inefficient staff in facility repair and getting parking permits. You can easily spend more than one hour waiting in the line just to get your parking permit for the quarter.

I think it is very nice to work in UCLA as a staff because you can just sit there all day and do nothing at all.

One more thing: very lousy online system which makes you frustrated just to select courses.

I worked at UCLA as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Innovation is rewarded! Love the west coast approach to B-School. Go to school on the east coast, you become a banker. Go to school on the west coast, you become an entrepreneur.

    Cons

Diversity was a huge issue. However, faculty did a great job at fostering collaboration between different ethnic groups.
