Prossalary, transport & I can't think of anything else right now.

Consunnecessary work pressure, some managers do make false commitments to the employees so that they can make them work extra hours.

Advice to Senior Managementtry to mark the managers making false commitments. It really makes a -ve impact on employees.

Unprofessional work environment, lots of politics, too many managers/senior managers

Senior Software Engineer (Current Employee)
Gurgaon, Haryana

I have been working at UnitedHealth Group full-time for more than 5 years

ProsFrequent parties; good for party organizers, inexperienced or those without any tech skills. Not much pressure if you can avoid work and please managers

ConsNo learning, a lot politics, lots of changes (unstable, expect at least one manager change every year), no focus or reward for performance, disconnect between various teams, between onshore/offshore. Shared seats, poor infrastructure, employees have to work with broken screens for months.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop fighting with each other, think of ur juniors as well

A company with degrading employee care

Senior IT Quality Analyst (Current Employee)
Gurgaon, Haryana

I have been working at UnitedHealth Group full-time for more than a year

ProsWork from Home
Cab facility
In house canteen
separate cubicle

ConsPromotion opportunities are poor - they will rather hire external candidate.
Low learning , Not recommended for freshers.
Appraisal mechanism is poor.
Variable payout is given at the end of year, if employee leaves mid year he is likely to loose all his variable component.
Poor increments even after company is growing beyond 105 Billion Dollars revenue - UHG is not ready to share its profit with India employees.
Sr management at offshore is not raising the concerns for its employes, seems they are more interested in their bonuses only.
Poor communication with Employees. No town halls from last 1 year :(
No established mechanism to take feedback from employees.

Advice to Senior ManagementPlease listen to your employees.
Communication should be direct and transparent.
CEO @ US, Please don't be so greedy. Share some dollars with Indian laborer as well

It was a very good experience and I had learnt a lot

Software Engineer (Former Employee)
Hyderābād

I worked at UnitedHealth Group full-time for more than a year

ProsIt was employee friendly. Shifts were flexible. Cab facility was provided. Work from home option was there and it was a stress free environment overall.

ConsI felt that after a certain period of time working in the company, there might not be much growth professionally. This was not a personal experience since I worked there for only two years but I observed this for my seniors

Pleasant stay and good experience

Senior Software Engineer (Current Employee)
Hyderābād

I have been working at UnitedHealth Group full-time for more than a year

Pros1)Work from home option(though the policy says 3 days in a month, if manger agrees, you can more than that when it is needed)
2)Challenging work
3)Good visibility to higher management level(kind of depends on the project you would be working on. My project is great and have high visibility )
4)Indoor games for stressing off
5)Good pay (but make sure to negotiate in the beginning as we hear people getting more in the negotiation phase)

Cons1)Vehicle Parking would be a problem in Hyderabad office(though i don't have a problem as i don't have vehicle, it was a major concern to others who are coming from long distance on a vehicle)
2)Some times politics play a role in your growth(depends on your project)
3)Process for everything.. sometimes even a software installation will take more than few days to get it done

Excellent

Senior Software Engineer (Current Employee)
Gurgaon, Haryana

I have been working at UnitedHealth Group full-time for more than 3 years

ProsYoung higher management, lots of perks, Work from home facility ( Project specific though), Centres in Ggn, Noida and Hyd in India, too many awards available. Chances are you will get one when your turn comes up ;)

ConsBonus component (called RRP ) is very high and may not be paid (only in case of poor annual rating) though shown as CTC, Parking problem is same like other companies. Only PMs and above get car parking stickers. Since majority of projects work in collaboration with onshore (US) partners, the time shift is 11-8:30 IST causing a little discomfort in work-life balance.

Advice to Senior ManagementMiddle level management needs a refresher. Apart from this , you are doing a nice job!
