    Pros

Flexible hours, straightforward job, helpful boss. It was nice to get some money on the side during school to pay for expenses.

    Cons

Not enough things to do, sometimes boring. My job would have me walking all over campus and depended on how many rooms I could get to.

I have been working at University of California Berkeley full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Being surrounded by brilliant, creative Faculty, students, and staff, is possibly the best part odlf working here. The benefits are also oretty awesome! Some of the Departments have excellent working relationships among its Staff. I'be been lucky enough to end up in a Department where (almost) everyone of the Staff members treat each other like family, which can make a HUGE difference in your work life! It also feels wonderful to know that in some way, we can help or possibly even make an impact on some of the students, who may later become the leaders of this world :)

    Cons

Bureaucracy minimizes efficiency (the recent implementation of CST shared services made this even worse for a lot of departments). Often times, you have to look elsewhere (other Departments) in order to move up. Pay raises don't come often enough. As in most companies, favoritism is unfortunately everywhere.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Salaries should be reviewed more often (cost of living increases each year would go a long way for some of the staff). More team building activities should be encouraged to build morale among staff.
