Decent job, just expect the BS and drama

Sales Associate (Former Employee)
Saint Peters, MO (US)

I worked at Victoria's Secret Stores part-time for more than 3 years

Pros-Decent pay
-Decent hours (once you've been there a while)
-Nice perks (free and reduced price merch, shopping sales early, etc)
-Excellent employee discount
-Generally a fun job
-Make lots of good friends

Cons-Corrupt upper management, above store level
-Less than ideal hiring policies
-High pressure sales environment
-Working with all females leads to drama in the workplace

Advice to Senior ManagementCut the crap. Hire people who can do the job instead of looking the part. Be better about promoting people who DESERVE it rather than people the management like better. It's a business, not a popularity contest. Make the associates learn their stuff better before sending them out on the sales floor. Man up about firing people that need to be fired.

Great for those going through school

Sales Associate (Current Employee)
Joplin, MO (US)

I have been working at Victoria's Secret Stores part-time for more than a year

ProsFlexible Hours and schedules
You get out what you put in as far as hours and effort goes
The company as a whole goes beyond to try and support associates in need
Pay at least a bit more than minimum wage for entering associates

ConsPay isn't on scale for the rising cost of living and for the demands of the job
Lots of chances for upward movement if Retail is your chosen field
To move up the ladder and pay-scale you really have to be willing to commit to the job

Advice to Senior ManagementGive raises based on experience and reviews
