Great place to work

Operations Specialist (Former Employee)

I worked at Wachovia full-time for more than 3 years

ProsGreat atmosphere to work in while in Richmond VA, the team leads, managers and superiors actually cared about their associates. Great team atmosphere. The company relocated in 2008 but that wasnt an option in the drop down.

ConsOnce the company merged with Wells Fargo and relocated to St. Louis the atmosphere there was different. The open door policy that existed in Richmond at Wachovia didnt exist in St. Louis at Wells Fargo with the managers.

Advice to Senior ManagementHumanize yourselves. Treat employees like people and not like robots

I certainly wish circumstances were different and my career still with this company

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at Wachovia full-time for more than 8 years

ProsThey support further advancement and while not everyone received respectible compensation I know that I did. The benefits package was outstanding and many selections that I certainly took advantage of while there.

ConsToo many disconnected upper managment staff. They really have and had no understanding of what was happening in the lower ranks. Therefore had no idea how to motivate and keep them engaged. The culture was very much an us versus them mentality because while upper management thought they were doing a great job in reality they did nothing but alienate the people the worked for them.

Advice to Senior ManagementToo late now the company was bought out by Wells Fargo so I can only hope that the new management is better positioned to cure the ills of this company.

Tech Support - Level 3

Tech Support - Level III (Former Employee)
Saint Louis, MO (US)

I worked at Wachovia as a contractor for more than a year

ProsWorked with some great people, and tackled a lot of issues.

ConsOnly wanted contractor positions, and wouldn't hire, despite several awards and praise while contracting.

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't be cheap, and farm out the support. Hire the talent, that's proved themselves. We could've had a great relationship, for years to come.
