I worked at Walmart part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

My fellow associates were very friendly, and my managers were very supportive. The benefits were decent, and the job itself was very easy.

    Cons

The cons were mainly customers and the managers who seemed "out to get you" if they didn't like you they could ruin your career, and it's the same case with customers.

    Pros

Some of the employees were great to work with, some of the managers acted like they were children.

    Cons

Was denied training due to my temporary position, subject to the whims of the other employees who would take advantage of my willingness to help out

I worked at Walmart part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Flexible hours. The tasks aren't very difficult, as you'd expect.

    Cons

It gets very repetitive the longer you stay working here. It's not worth advancing to Department Manager positions from what I've seen - It's almost impossible to advance from there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep advancement open for those interested and capable.

I have been working at Walmart full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The environment is friendly, and clean. There is a lot of room for promotions and such. They work with your school schedule or whatever other accommodations you may need. The hours are good, and you get raises often.

    Cons

Having a heavy workload, and dealing with some unruly customers. Overnight hours are a lot if you are a stocker.

I have been working at Walmart part-time for more than a year

    Pros

IF you have good coworkers then its a decent job.
simple job, easily can turn your brain off if you're just a sales associate

    Cons

Managers do NOT promote people with education. They want puppets to work under them, not people with brains. Your manager will determine how easily/difficult it will be to progress.
For some reason when the hard workers slack a little they get talked to by management, but the slow workers never get talked to about work.
Don't get any praise for doing great work. Even after saving a manager's butt.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The managers shouldn't be like a high school clique. promote the good employees not your friends that suck at the job.

I worked at Walmart full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Flexible scheduling is a huge plus for those who attend school. Not many hours are given even if you are a great worker. Amount of hours and promotions are not based on merit.

    Cons

Getting a promotion is not easy when you're not sucking up to the managers. Hours of hard work and compliance doesn't come close to a cup of coffee.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should really dedicate more time and effort to analyzing the work of those in charge. A lot of the time the work isn't being done and nobody seems to care to do it.
