Pros – Good people to work with.
Cons – Managment does not treat the employee's very well, no work life balance, poor review/calibration system (PMP). Managment does not provide good direction and is afraid to push back on upper managment if projects are not going well.

Former Employee – worked at Whirlpool full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Great starter company to work for. Care about growth potential for new, young hires.
Cons – More development opportunities are needed for experienced employees. WHR encourages and supports continuous growth and development for young employees, but when you've been with the company several years you typically don't see that same level of commitment and you get lost in the shuffle All roads lead to Benton Harbor....not great for single people.
Advice to Senior Management – Focus on growth and development for strong candidates. Figure out new ways to to retain lower/middle level mgmt.

Pros – This company really cares about people. There is a drive to succeed and win in three marketplace but that seems to come second to caring for people. The company makes world class products as well. The company always treats its employees well and as long as employers are happy whirlpool will thrive. This company will be a world leader for another 100 years. Work life balance is excellent. They care more about you getting your work done than the hours you put in.
Cons – All roads lead to Benton harbor mi. that is the only major downfall of whirlpool

Current Employee – been working at Whirlpool full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – The system they have for managing high potential employees is very good, and provides many chances for personal and professional development. Great place for young, motivated people to start or grow their careers with lots of opportunity to move up.
Cons – The appliance industry is very tough, and there are many pressures and challenges facing the business from new competitors in the market. There has also been a leadership change in the past 3 years that has changed the culture from a supportive, high performing environment into an aggressive, never good enough one driven in large part from the top.
Advice to Senior Management – Recognize what has been lost in the culture and show visible leadership changes that put more balanced leaders into the top positions before it is too late.
