I was only able to work there for a year, due to health issues, but they really take care of their employees.

I worked at Williams-Sonoma full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

It's a wonderful work environment. The management really cares about the employees. The benefits are wonderful and if you are lucky enough to be part of the management team, you are covered from day one with your benefits.

    Cons

It can be challenging working retail. Your schedule is never the same from one week to the next. It can also be very physical working and stocking shelves, lifting and pulling on a concrete floor.

I have been working at Williams-Sonoma full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Nice people, but limited on learning.
Can be a great career path for some.

    Cons

Favoritism is played pretty bad here.
Takes at least 3-4 years to be promoted to senior level (e.g. senior analyst).
Turn over rate avg is 2-3 years due to slow growth, and raises are based off critical reviews (less than 2% annual raise if generous)
Benefits are okay...no free/subsidized lunches, only tea bags in the break room.

    I worked at Williams-Sonoma full-time

    Pros

There is good work life balance. The discount is also great (40%) and there are sample sales for employees. People are also very friendly.

    Cons

Management is okay. There are very few opportunities for growth and everyone is very underpaid. They pay way below market. There is also high turnover because of these reasons and more.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

We have some of the best customers anyone could ever want. Associates are wonderful and it's a pleasure coming to work.

    Cons

Store GM is mercurial. Too much time and money spent on "perfect" visuals--but who ever bought because all the jars of a particular product are turned 10 degrees to the left, or stacked one row higher? Not me.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to be more positive towards employees.
