Pros – The new management (taking company from World Travel Holdings from National Leisure Group) is very strong. There are good guys at the helm (finally).
Cons – Benefits are not great. Health insurance costs a lot - they spend money on things like pet insurance ad legal insurance instead of offering better quality health care for lower premiums.
Advice to Senior Management – Invest in a better benefits package.

Pros – Fun environment, friendly people, new technology, not a lot of micromanagement, "breaks" are allowed whenever as long as calls are not holding, always trying to better the employees & looking for feedback
Cons – I don't think there is a lot of recognition for the non sales agents. If you are not senior management, no one knows who you are or what you do. The medical plan is kind of crummy too.
Advice to Senior Management – Take a look at your people behind the scenes. Not just "management". Some of us work long & hard hours but it goes unnoticed.

Pros – It is a great company to work. It is a solid company, even threw the recent economic times. Even though it was hard for the company to ask all except employees to take a 2 week furlough, WTH also provide a way for each employee to earn the money back. The company did their best making sure front line employees were not impacted. Definitely has some smart people that are enjoyable to work with - thumbs up here! As with most companies, there are issues. However overall it is a great company to work.
WTH does try to provide a balance between your needs and the needs of the business. Working for a Travel Company that is open 365 days a year 7 days a week, there will always be employees that are not happy. Which is very confusing to me because all the information regarding operational hours are discussed in detail during the interview process. Did they think they were above the law? I completed understood that I would be low in terms of seniority. In a sales or service environment you have to actual perform and be a team player.
It you are a hard worker, like working with good people and are able to see opportunity you will do well here. If you spend most of your time thinking it's about being the bosses’ pet and complaining you won't like it here.
Cons – Recently they have employeed to many "you owe me" people. What happen to actually working towards respect and maybe opporunties would come their way.
Advice to Senior Management – The management team can be too reactive at times. There are company changes that occur every 6 months. This can be very hard on people to adjust too.

Pros – It really is a fun place to work for nice people who love the travel business. I've been impressed so far (18 months)
Cons – I guess there has been a lot of change in the travel industry over the last couple years. There's been a lot of change in the WORLD over the last couple of years. The older agents (old in years with the co. not age) always gripe about it not being "like it used to be"! They havent figured it out that things change and if you can change with it you get ahead! If you can't be happy then shut up or go find another job! If they were more positive then good things be happening for them.
Advice to Senior Management – invest in better technology

Pros – Great opportunities for professional growth in a fun industry. Focused on selling a great product and get to work on some great brands.
Cons – In the past there were layoffs, which may be why there are some bad reviews, but now the company is healthy, growing and people who are here stay here
Advice to Senior Management – Pay could be improved

Pros – Your associates. They make it worth coming in
Cons – The company has gone against all of the other competition's policies in place to generate business during this economy. . Raising administrative and processing fees while others are eliminating them, increasing margin share by one quarter of one percent while charging back 35% of any discounts to the agents. finding something wrong about every call we are monitored on. Marketing is sometimes purposely deceptive and aimed at what the industry calls bottom feeders. When they find out they are not getting a $400 credit on a $150 cruise, they hang up. This has a negative effect on our compensation as our conversion decreases making us ineligible for bonus.
Advice to Senior Management – Spend a day on the phones trying to book some of these calls using the "customer connection" in place.

Current Employee – been working at World Travel Holdings
Pros – Travel benefits, decent hourly wage
Cons – The people who are Team Leads and Coaches are always critical and never have anything nice to say about anyone here. People are worried about job security. Managers are more concerned with public humiliation thru constant emails showing how badly you are doing in comparison to others. We are reminded to hurry and take calls while supervisors seem to have time to look for cartoon clip arts in their barrage of emails. People need to help out and stop reminding everyone how bad we are doing. If I had another option I would work somewhere else.Really poor communication between supervisors and employees and the company fired long-time employees to cut corners
Advice to Senior Management – Look at the constant number of emails sent by the same people everyday saying the same thing as their peers and tell them they need to jump in and help with the phones. Sending these constant spreadsheets out is not something that motivates, it attacks our worth as employees.

Pros – Smart people that care about one another and care about their business. They are passionate about their work, but they don't expect you to be married to your job. The management team has good travel experience (good and bad sometimes). The senior team respects and values the employees. They are very open to feedback and I feel like they value the contribution and ideas of every employee.
Cons – Management is not looking to innovate much. They are looking to tweak around the edges rather than build something remarkable.
The medical benefits are below average. The working space is far below average. There are no perks to speak of including travel perks.
Advice to Senior Management – dare to be different. shake up leadership that is not trying to change the game. Don't be afraid to get someone new into a key position even if they have to come from outside of travel. Find someone that has built a brand and has deep direct to consumer marketing experience. consider your value proposition more and your tactical performance metrics a little less. invest in your online user experience.

Pros – Wow, this is a good question cause it don't have much good reasons to work here. In todays economy, it's a great reason to be working here. But seriously, the best reason to work here is perhaps the people. For the most part everyone is really nice and helpful and everyone tries to do their job according to standards. Other than the people there's not a good good reason to work here. As the last review said, this job is good only if you can't find a job anywhere else. It's also an ideal part-time gig for college students. Also being employed by this company you can get travel agent discounts on some stuff such as theme park tickets and hotel stays, etc. Don't expect to be going on cruises all willy nilly....it's a big LIE. Again, the last review was very much on point. Only top execs or the same people gets to go on cruises.
Cons – There is absolutely no work/life balance at this company. They like to change your schedules without notice as if you don't have a life. Getting time-off or vacation approve is almost IMPOSSIBLE with these people. When you need time off the only option for the most part is to get your shift swapped with another employee and even doing that is hard enough cause most people don't like to give up there days OFF especially if it's a Fri or Sat....All sales agent has to follow a script and if you dont follow it, your penalized for scoring. Sales coaches show you love of course when you make the sales (any sales business do) but when numbers not looking good, they sure will remind you every time "you're not doing your job" The reservation system they use is crap; every day it's always some technical problems that makes the job more frustrating on top of dealing w/ rude customers. There's so much this company need to improve on for their call center. People getting hired are fed lies. They have laid off before in 2007 and 2008 and 2009 probably is not gonna be any differ after the busy season. Again, only if you can't find a job somewhere else, a college student or just looking extra part-time income working here is an option, otherwise STAY AWAY.
Advice to Senior Management – Stop making changes every quarter. Fix your scheduling system, it need to be more work/life balanced and update your reservation system, IT SUCKS!!. Start appreciating your employees by APPROVING some time/vacation days.
