If you're competent, expect to be worked to the bone

Technical Manager (Former Employee) King of Prussia, PA (US)

ProsFulfilling work, if you ask for it before being hired you will be compensated well, good benefits, flexible hours

ConsReorganizations at least every 3 months. New supervisors every 3 months. Some of the senior management are only in place because they know people, but then stick around after their buddies move on to another company (we pay for the mistakes of those who came and left). The implementation process is S-L-O-W and the business analysts are simply scribes (no good documentation). The bad people can ride the wave and put in minimal work (barely 40 hours) while the good ones can work 80-90 hours, and if they try to work less (after setting the precedent) leadership then expresses their disappointment. If you put in more, you are punished for attempting to try to regain a work/life balance. Moving up (without changing departments) is extremely difficult. Layoffs are frequent.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop the madness of reorganizations and stop continually laying people off. Get appropriate staffing and stop losing great staff (by not overworking them).

    An eye opening experience!

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) Melbourne Beach, FL (US)

ProsGSI offers a good base pay as well as the opportunity to climb the management ladder. There are many opportunities to earn bonuses and being employed there grants many (useful) discounts.

ConsIt can be a little too fast-paced for the number of managers available which can create the possibility for issues such as misinformed customers. Also, the work scheduling systems was unconventional.

    Lacking Leadership

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsPeer group is great to work with. Employees are fantastic. Flexibility is great.

ConsCommunication is horrible. Decision making is a joke. Leadership has no idea how to lead.

Advice to Senior ManagementUtilize your employees rather than deciding everything on your own.

Good technology but culture leaves much to be desired

Solutions Architect (Former Employee) King of Prussia, PA (US)

ProseCommerce is a great area to work in, new technology and new products make it an interesting place to work in.

ConsPay scales flatten out in middle management. Lack of diversity in middle management, heavily dominated by white males at middle and upper management levels. High burnout rates amongst workers on the ground.

Advice to Senior ManagementHire more women in technology management roles, listen to your technical experts on technical matters. Don't work people like galley slaves. Introduce better pay scales for your solution architects and tech leads in order to hire experienced personnel, so that you get the solution right the first time.
