All eligible employees in India are entitled to 26 weeks of paid leave provided they have worked for at least 80 consecutive calendar days in Accenture within 12 months before the expected date of delivery. 1. Eligible employee is a woman employee and any other employee who can bear and give birth to a child. 2. For up to two children, the maximum period you are entitled to maternal leave is 26 consecutive weeks of paid leave, of which not more than eight weeks shall precede the date of expected delivery of the child. For the third child onwards, the maximum period you are entitled to maternal leave is 12 consecutive weeks of paid leave, of which not more than six weeks shall precede the date of expected delivery of the child. 3. For any illness directly related to pregnancy, delivery, premature birth, miscarriage or MTP, on production of sufficient proof, you may be entitled to an additional maternal leave for a maximum period of one month. 4. Based on circumstances, you can also request for an additional 3 months of leave of absence - without pay, provided you have exhausted your vacation balance.
They had less budget in insurance coverage with respect to maternity. Paternity is just 5 days only.
