If you submit forms appropriately you get all the time you need off. The company really does care about its employees (probably out of fear of litigation).

Sick pay was fine. You were paid as much as you would be. HR required note from doctor every time you would fall sick beyond 5 days but that was standard industry practice
They are really tolerant about sick days
