Benefit is you get to work with the best researchers in the country. The worst part is low salary.
Nothing much for project associate , intern and temporary research employees
There is no benefit package at IISc. It's always work and research. There absolutely nothing else. There is work-time culture as such. Sometimes the work exceeds more than 18 hours. It's all about enjoying work. The work gives immense satisfaction.
Personal benefits are not there. I applied via dst fellowship. And they provide Rs 2lac per annum contingency for doing research.
There are no monetary benefits. If you are lucky, you might get health insurance. 30 day leaves through the year. No distinction in types of leave. No leave encashment at the end of the year. Most of the time leave is granted easily. The only benefits are in terms of knowledge. Can attend any class in the campus and use the library facilities. The canteens are generally a little cheaper than outside campus. But by now, prices are catching up. More veg places than non-veg places.
The work culture is extremely good and you have flexible working hours. There is no compulsory attendance and you have the leverage to choose your working style.
Only HRA allowance is provided, No EPF / tax etc.
institute does not give fellowship. government directly transfers fellowship in account of student which takes longer time . students get their fellowship irregularly.
I dont get anything because I am a part time employee.
