It is a good public company
Security of job is most important thing.
Job security and government facilities.
proper employee care is taken
Best : free travel across India Worst: no leaves to travel.
The best thing about Indian railways is that it feels like a big community you are working for. It has engineers, doctors, bureaucrats, loco pilots, station managers and various professionals working for the same organization that you get to network with.
Nice thing - flexible working hours Worst Thing - Not much to Learn or the employers are not interested in spending time on you
Best sarkari Naukri in India
Benefits: Your job is secured. In case of untimely death, your wife or kids(>18Y) wl get a job( in GP 2800-4200range depending upon their qualification). There is no health insurance but you can get all treatment free forvself and dependents at Rly hospital and there is no cap on the expenditure on health bill. If you are lucky you may get referred to private hospitals also only if Railway doesn't hv the required infrastructure to treat you. Cons: No medical reimbursement facility for non referral cases. Example, if you decide to get the delivery of your wife done at a private hospital, until and unless it's a very complicated issue which i hope not, you will never get any reimbursement.
Work life balance shifted more towards life than work. People are treated and compensated humanely even at lowest grade Cons: learning opportunity poor. Learning very specific to railways which is of no use to other industries. slow salary and learning growth. Purely managerial in nature.
