WFH gives flexibility to work.
Although AGILE is followed in most of the projects, work from home is allowed as long as the User Stories are completed
Work from home is allowed usually only when there is a valid reason why the employee cannot come to the office. But this might be different from team to team. But overall, the work from home is allowed for the employee without much objections.
Absolutely no discouragement from management if employee is willing to work from home..

This privilege is at your manager's discretion and very helpful for cities where traffic congestion can rob away hours of your previous time. If you manager is reasonable, considerate and someone who focuses more on the quality of your work and the commitment you have towards your project, then it will not be a problem. You need to demonstrate a reasonable level of trust and work ethic to earn the privilege.

Work from home facility is the major facility Symantec is providing.
They are providing work from home facilities. I really likes to be part of Symantec. Loves to work here. I am getting very good environment to growth my carrier.
Very flexible to do work from home. But the point is we will be doing work more than what we do in office ;)
