They say they will pay gross salary for any unused PL at the time of leaving but nothing as such is mentioned neither in the offer letter nor in their leave policy statement. Tax saving components are not included in your payslip and you will endup paying more tax. For appraisals, you need to followup like anything. Once deployed, they will never bother about you. If client doesn't pay for certain holidays, they will force you to apply leaves for that period. If you dont have any available leaves, your leave balance will go negative.
