Every year you get a performance bonus. It is not actually a bonus since it is part of your CTC. The bonus amount you will get will depend on your yearly rating. Full amount bonus will be awarded only if you get the highest rating, otherwise partial amount will be awarded. In a department of suppose 20 people, only 2 people can get highest rating in a year. That will depend on many factors excluding work performance. It highly depends on your relations with your boss. For others, in their appraisal meeting, they will give ridiculous reasons for not giving proper rating or will lie to you about your actual rating in the meeting. You will get to know the truth when you get the appraisal letter.
