First Student knows that a student's first assignment is to get to school, safely and on time. Together, First Student and sister company FirstCanada transport about five million students to and from their classrooms every day via a fleet of some 44,000 buses. As North America's #1 school bus business, they operate from a network of 500-plus locations, spanning 39 states in the US and seven provinces in Canada. In addition to transportation, the company offers a slew of ancillary services, including preventative maintenance, fuel (its storage and purchase), route optimization, used bus sales, and more. First Student is a subsidiary of FirstGroup America, which is a unit of UK bus and train operator FirstGroup.

At one time salt drove the world's commerce; it still makes up a good bit of the business at Tata Chemicals Limited (TCL). Tata Salt owns a more than 40% share in India's branded salt market, and the company's soda ash business is also tops in the country, controlling nearly a third of India's market. Tata Chemicals divides its business in two segments: Inorganic Chemicals (soda ash, salt, and caustic soda) and Fertilizers (primarily urea and phsophatic fertilizers). A member of the Tata Group, the company operates India's largest inorganic chemical complex in Mithapur. TCL's products end up in such diverse products as salt licks for cattle, fertilizers, cement, glass, processed steel, and detergents.

Indian Oil is India's #1 oil refiner. Of India's 20 refineries, the company owns 10, which have a combined capacity of 67.7 million metric tons per year (34% of India's total refining capacity). The group also owns more than 10,900 kilometers of pipeline and operates a chain of some 18,640 gas stations across India. India's largest commercial enterprise, Indian Oil has 71% of India's downstream pipeline throughput capacity, and its network of 35,600 retail outlets represents 49% of the country's petroleum products market share. The group also provides cooking gas to more than 50 million households. The company also has a 63% market share of India aviation fuel sector.
