What does an Enrollment Advisor do?

Enrollment advisors assist and advise prospective students, guiding them through the process of enrolling in a college, training center, or other learning facility. They explain the admissions process, review entrance requirements, and provide information about financial aid resources that might be available. They can also help applicants select the program that best aligns with their academic and professional goals. These advisors can also review any previous educational credits the applicant may have and determine if those may be applied toward the program of interest.

Enrollment advisors typically have at least a bachelor’s degree, but some employers are willing to consider candidates with an equivalent combination of education and professional experience. They often have a background in the education field. Sales or advising experience is also helpful. They must have an in-depth understanding of the admissions process, and be well-versed in financial aid resources and procedures.
