Here at MBRDI we focus on topics ranging from computer-aided design and simulations (CAD, CAE) for powertrain, chassis and exteriors to embedded systems, telematics and developing various IT applications and tools. Product design and development The teams are actively involved in design of various subsystems, viz. chassis, BiW (Body in White), powertrain, and exterior, interior and with full vehicle integration tasks. Partnering with teams across Mercedes-Benz Cars, Trucks, and Vans and Buses divisions, worldwide, across these topics, falls under the scope of MBRDI competence. Electrical and electronics The teams work extensively on E&E topics pertaining to powertrain (engine, transmission), chassis, interiors, mobility, advanced driver assistance, telematics, applications development etc. Computer-aided engineering The CAE department offers their expertise on topics related to crash, occupant safety, pedestrian protection, stiffness, strength, and durability. Armed with high computation power and expertise in India, the CAE team supports all Daimler business units, across its operations, globally. Mercedes-Benz Tech India The IT teams are responsible to plan–realise – test – maintain applications for Mercedes-Benz Engineering and Production in the complete lifecycle of our manufacturing facilities across the globe. Additionally, the Shared Service Centre in India develops and is responsible for rollout of a host of applications across Mercedes-Benz AG group.
