What does a Quantitative Developer do?

Quantitative developers are software developers and engineers who provide technological tools, systems. and solutions for investment banks and financial services firms. They develop infrastructures that serve as the foundation upon which advisors can access data used to manage investment accounts and service clients. They write code to develop programs for live trading and simulation models. They create libraries and other systems to manage and organize data sets, ensuring they are capable of managing large volumes of information efficiently. They may also implement and oversee data analytics systems for evaluating metrics.

Quantitative developers typically have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or another technical field. They commonly have a background in software programming and development roles. They should be experienced with coding and programming, and have proficiency in common programming languages.
