What does a Technical Specialist do?
Technical specialists work with network analysts to review, diagnose, and treat technical problems related to computer networking operations and work with software and hardware. They evaluate technical programs, develop application designs and web pages, provide customer service for programs and applications, and train customers and staff in best practices, applications, and programs.
Technical specialists troubleshoot technical problems, find ways to increase productivity while reducing expenses and learn about new products and technologies on the market to stay abreast of current offerings. They streamline and manage technical product programs and products through customer service, staff training, and web development and create application designs or develop web pages to simplify business processes and programs. Technical specialists need a bachelor's degree in information technology or related fields.

- Work with business representatives, legal and other stakeholders, to develop requirements.
- Support complex projects and provide insight on interpretation of regulations.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and implement solutions to control issues.
- Analyze and present findings in a clear and cohesive manner.
- Provide second-level troubleshooting support and failure analysis when necessary.
- Act as first point of contact for resource management, escalations, internal questions, processes and procedures.
- Assist with the ongoing review of procurement practices and procedures.
- Identify external market trends to influence business strategy and marketing planning.
- Manage and monitor system security ensuring privacy and compliance is maintained.
- Work with tooling supplier to improve tooling and cycle times.
- Bachelor's or Graduate's Degree in electrical engineering, computer science, engineering or information technology, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and Vista programming.
- Experience with Skype for business, Cisco WebEx, and Agile.
- Experience with cloud software and systems.
- Experience with APIs, NT, and SQL software and systems.
- Is an excellent communicator with demonstrated product knowledge and leadership skills.
- Can utilize critical thinking and negotiation skills with composure and decision making..
- Demonstrated time management and computing skills with an eye for problem-solving and closure.
- Prior experience as a consultant.
- Demonstrated experience with writing protocols, business process analysis, and business case development.
