Would you take a pay cut from $205K base to $180K base to go fully remote + can live wherever (from 2 days in office in NYC).
Didn’t get promoted and thinking of leaving Deloitte for the next level at Guidehouse. It’s a title bump so I would get a raise, but I’m trying to weigh the opportunity cost of going to a “lower tier” firm known for more niche services. Has anyone else been in this situation and what did you choose? Would this limit my exit opps?
Does anyone else cringe a bit when they see a former intern, or similar, have “ex-BCG”, “former Bain”, “PwC alum”, etc. on their LinkedIn headline? I don’t like it generally, and I don’t feel like an intern even counts. I truly hope it helps someone get a job, just cringy.
I was just terminated from the deals group. I’ve let myself go in terms of my health and weight. I figured I’d use a good chunk of the severance time to get in shape over the summer and focus on my health but my friends and family are pushing me to find a way to juggle both and call me crazy for taking my time. My plan is to build a morning routine of fitness and work that into my new schedule when I’m rehired. Any thoughts ?
List of the worst of the worst people, those unfit for society: - Those who recline their seats on airplanes - Those who don’t return their grocery carts - Those who listen to audio on speaker on public transport Am I missing anyone?
Bc then why would you need to have the gold card too? Less $$ for Amex.
Simple. Gold and cobalt (the latter more so for millennials and early gen z) are aimed more at living and lifestyle with a more aggressive focus on daily categories so that you can earn points for travel. The platinum was always a higher end work/ lifestyle card that was more designed to grant access and focus on categories that mattered to a slightly higher demographic (lounge accesses, invites by Amex, waived green fees for golf, travel perks, status etc.). Many of the times they banked on you using the platinum for work and then taking them up on a discounted offer for a personal gold. That way you could really turbocharge your earnings on all fronts
PlatAm has to be paired with a points card tbh. I use it for the perks and use the chase unlimited for points.
If you need a gold card, DM me for a referral!
I gotchu with a plat referral. Lounge access is 👌🏼
Why isn’t a quarter pounder with cheese the same as a Big Mac?
Because platinum card owners have private chefs (/s, to be clear)
Platinum is more for perks/benefits than point accurual
So they can get you to pay for more of their cards.
If you have platinum you can add gold cards for free..
Yes, but you don’t earn against the Gold Card rewards structure
