Has anyone experienced this?: A job interviewer (head of HR) is rude & condescending & tries to usher you out of the building, with we’ve-just-started-interviews-and-will-be-in-touch-do-you-need-to-use-the-restroom-before-you-leave…highly insulting & yes I went on Yelp & gave the company a minus zero review. And my hair is streaked with gray so I do look “mature” but I’m proud of my 4 decades of HR experience…which is why I’m happily consulting now. Anyone else have interview horror stories?
Hello — looking for guidance on a workplace issue. We hired a manager’s son because he was highly qualified and has done a great job. Recently, two employees raised concerns about perceived favoritism. In reality, he’s often taken on difficult tasks others declined, but we can’t share those details. The perception is now affecting morale and team dynamics. Global HR said upper management should handle instead of HR. Seems not right. Any advice on managing the perception and team dynamics?
Some of the best retention strategies have nothing to do with compensation. What non-monetary factor has had the biggest impact in your organization?
Hi everyone, I’m hoping to start an informal discussion and learn from HR, recruitment, and hiring perspectives. In your experience, what feels most broken or inefficient in today’s hiring process? Is it application volume, resume screening, candidate fit, time-to-hire, AI-generated resumes, ghosting, or the gap between resumes and actual role needs? I’d appreciate any insights from the employer/recruiter side. Thank you!
Open toed shoes, okay for people to wear in the office? I think they should be banned across the board but boy, does the team hate this.

Curious to know if folks here think getting this cert is worth it? Does it actually lend credibility and support career growth like SHRM, HRCI, or WorldatWork? I see job postings requiring or saying certifications from those providers are “highly desirable” but I’ve never seen a job posting even mention HRIP certification before, at least in the US
It helps to have a cert in the platform you work on. Not so much HRIP. A lot of configuration rules and proper processes it will teach you unless you have 7+ years experience with a single platform.
I have an employee pursuing an IHRIM certification.
Were you able to find someone?
I’m currently studying not sure if you’ve obtained yours yet. I’m taking the webinars with IHRIM.
