I hate when I answer the phone at work, and the caller immediately asks who they are speaking to and proceeds to use my name throughout their request. It's very patronizing, you don't know me and it doesn't give you any power to say my name ugh. Anyone else experience this?
I've started a new job about 6 months ago, and I just saw a new job in a team I'm really interested in come up. I don't think I'll get the role, but i want to know what it's like to go through the hiring process and its one that i want to do in the near future. How should I approach this? Should I be transparent with my manager and the hiring manager to say im applying for the experience?
I’m in a high-volume imaging center making $34/hour, and I’m being asked to train a new hire who is starting at $41/hour. When I asked HR about a market adjustment for my own rate to match the new hire, they told me it wasn't budget season and that my compensation would be reviewed in December. I am literally being forced to hand over my years of institutional knowledge to someone making significantly more than me. Should I refuse to train them until my pay is adjusted, or is that just shooting myself in the foot?
Since when did wearing a clown hat become part of my clinical competency? I received a formal warning for unprofessional conduct because I didn't participate in the hospital’s mandatory Spirit Week dress-up days. I’m sorry, but I am a professional with a degree. I am not wearing a superhero cape over my scrubs while trying to deliver bad news to a family.
Sometimes I feel jealous of my friends who are teachers because they get summers off. I know they work all the time during the school year but at least they know there is a “reset” each year. Meanwhile in healthcare it is unrelenting. Which would you prefer?
You can wear jeans. Thanks everyone who answered this who had no idea what they were talking about.
Business casual. You will be informed about the dress code so you really don't have to worry about that.
What? I’m asking to be informed about the dress code. Jeans or no jeans.
Business casual = no jeans.
It's business casual. Slacks--no jeans
