I’ve barely been working in retail for a week, and I already want to quit. This is currently my first job; I’m not being really trained whatsoever, and I’m just over it, but my family is telling me to stay there until I find another job, which I am, but my question is, what’s a good way to go about quitting when the time comes?

Give your manager two weeks' notice once you have another job lined up. I hope it improves a bit, but if it doesn't, it's okay to try a few things to try to find a good fit.

Sadly a lot of retail and fast food jobs are high stress and unorganized for low pay. When it's time to quit, a short and sweet resignation letter with 2 weeks notice is the way to go. "I wish to inform you that I am resigning from my position and my last day will be on X X, XXXX. Thank you for the opportunity to work and grow at X."

Your employer will most likely need a signed letter with your 2 weeks notice. You can keep it short! There are some good references/templates on Google.

Depends on how they treat you. I’d they treat you like garbage then you aren’t obligated to give them anything. Just like they can fire you without notice. If they don’t treat you terribly then two weeks notice is better as you can rely on them as a resume reference.
