What Employees Say
I have been working at Altavista Group full-time for more than 3 years
Pros
Average enough company, good package and nice people.
Cons
Salary is below market expectations for experienced people after you have been there a few years
I worked at SGV Marketing full-time
Pros
Some skilled salespeople here who can teach you a thing or two about B2C sales
Cons
Where do I start? First of all this isn't a "marketing" company. The work is strictly door-to-door sales. So dont believe any of their job postings claiming to offer actual marketing positions.... Before you even start your official tenure at this company, your "interview" will consist of you accompanying an existing salesperson on a FULL DAY of door-to-door sales in the most random neighborhoods across NYC's 5 boroughs. You will either be tasked to sell Verizon FiOs subscriptions to unsuspecting people. You won't get back to the office until well after 7pm. Regardless of how you perform that day, the "manager" will most likely extend an offer because they're desperate. Also -- don't want to call this company a pyramid scheme, but if it quacks like a duck, it's probably a damn duck. Stay away unless you genuinely want to pursue a career in field sales.
