Pros
Easy to connect with different levels of people. Good visibility. Good work environment.
Cons
Many automation projects are only available.
Pros
Nice offices, some good staff with a wealth of experience from other large construction projects, looks good on CV as long as you don't stay there too long
Cons
A unique combination of inept staff management, dysfunctional teams, indecisive stakeholders, endless cost and assurance reviews and poor management systems all done badly leading to a proliferation... of pointless jobs and delays. My key task seemed to involve little more than copying information from Word and Powerpoint documents into other Word and Powerpoint documents. The expensive systems used for project management and reporting rarely worked properly or the information was not ready. All the time yet more consultants are brought in to handle the endless assurance and cost reviews or trying to fix the systems and processes. Despite the non-value adding work most staff are working flat out and unavailable. I had to wait an hour on my first day since nobody was available in the office. Throughout there was a miserable atmosphere and many ill-tempered meetings. On my last day the office was virtually empty (again) and there wasn't even a handover conducted.
