Former Contractor - Software Engineer

I worked at Dealertrack for more than a year

Pros

Offices are great, comfortable, well equipped. Equipments are adequate. Some really good people, but depends on how lucky you are.

Cons

Work is kind of dull sometimes, mostly because management doesn't know how to define priorities. But the worst is that there is no job security, every quarter there will be cuts, and doesn't matter... if you're important or not for the company, they only see numbers, is dehumanizing. There are some great people there, but most of the time you will be working with incompetent and demotivated people who don't care about their work, because there are not real reason to improve in such environment.

Advice to Management

If you are trying to kill everything good that Cox saw when bought Dealertrack, you're doing a really good job. If not, you should start thinking less about numbers, and more about people.

Great place to learn new latest trending technology

Cons

Mid level manager population increases frustration amongst live wires who basically delivers to the product not the mid level managers .

Advice to Management

Remove mid level managers who blocks the productivity and increases frustration
