I worked at First Southwest Company full-time for less than a year

Pros

If available, could work a different shift 6 am to 3 pm, 6:30 am to 3:30 pm

Cons

Too much red tape for simple tasks.

Advice to Management

IT and HR should work together instead of against each other. Was some tension between the groups at the upper level.

I have been working at PFM full-time

Pros

Throughout the training process, the firm makes a point to showcase every avenue within PFM. There’s something for everybody that enjoys public finance. While exhibiting a fairly standard... hierarchical structure, (most) senior-level employees are very willing to listen and help.

Cons

Can get slammed with work sometimes (long hours, work weekends). Pay could be higher in early stages.
