Pros

- Sticky client base and product - Reasonably good investment process and philosophy - Rank and file traders/analysts generally a cut above - Historically comp was good as were soft perks (catered... lunches, complimentary beverages, nice office space, etc.)

Cons

- The firm has seen a multi-year process of deep cuts to try and boost the bottom line. It's a shell of its former self. - Tone at the top has been toxic for many years now and continues to worsen,... as turnover has seen the fragilest egos and their deep-seeded insecurities brought to the fore. A once respectable team increasingly looks like a caricature of a sell-side desk from the mid-oughts: juniorized, obsequious, and given to childish impulses at the expense of professionalism, competency and, sadly, client interests. Some top rate talent remains among the longer-tenured, but they've grown weary from years of cruel and laughably imperious third-world antics, and they generally all have one foot out the door.

Advice to Management

Real management is the Wells Fargo parent. They've already pushed out some of the clowns on top; they should ax the rest and take over.
