Former Employee - Engagement Specialist

I worked at Hermes Investment Management full-time for more than a year

Pros

Hermes does promote responsible investment, as it says on the tin. It is fast paced and driven, a good opportunity to develop and hone investment management skills while integrating and implementing... sustainability. Packages are decent and there is room for promotion and development. Teams do work with one another and there is flexibility to move horizontally too.

Cons

Despite its stated mission, the company does not apply to itself what it demands from companies it invests in. In particular, HR rules, regulations and advantages are not just average but actually... below par, how shocking when you spend time faulting large corporations for poorly handling their workforce! In a similar rather unfortunately hypocritical way, Hermes is actually nothing more than an efficient asset-management house with a sustainability varnish. People are not friendlier, sharks circle and hyenas plunder; management has developed a vampire-like machine that sucks the life and blood of mostly young people who believe in the better good for all. A fairly disappointing aspect of reality.

Advice to Management

Forget the greed and practice the creed.

Current Employee - Team Member

I have been working at Hermes full-time for less than a year

Pros

New team member - the onboarding process from interview to offer, and communication regarding induction plans etc have been swift, efficient and inviting. The talent team really know how to... communicate with potential or newly recruited employees and the comms and information received from my direct line Manager has been fantastic. Really looking forward to starting my career here.
