I worked at Mathew Greenwald & Associates

Pros

Greenwald builds researchers from whatever skill level they have when they start. Greenwald routinely mentors/trains assistant or associate level staff, builds their skills, and promotes them into... senior research associates, directors, even VPs. I personally was hired as a research associate and left the company as an assistant VP. The company has an emphasis on the quality of the work it produces, so you can feel proud of the work you do there. Also, in a mid-sized company such as this, employees get to see a project from its inception through to completion, rather than having to specialize in one aspect of research as can happen in larger companies. The work is also quite stimulating, with varied clients and varied uses of the research--from solving company problems, to getting companies needed PR attention, to addressing social issues like caregiving and health care. The company does allow some flexibility of work hours, and permits part-time telework, so it's possible to blend work and life when you're with Greenwald.

Cons

Sometimes client deadlines are challenging to meet, and staff have to go above and beyond to serve them well. Thus, there are occasional long days, but it's rewarding to take responsibility and wow... the clients.
