Working at Sharp you develop strong friendships and get to work on a variety of clients, learning a lot about different industries. There are also many out of office events.
Sharp is not entirely business-savvy and will bend over backwards for anything a client asks for, no strategy or reasoning, making good ideas go out the window. Even when the client is in the wrong,... there will be little support behind members of the agency. A lot of research and brainstorming will happen, but it will go nowhere because there is no push back from the agency on the client when presenting. Instead of senior level taking a chance and learning how ideas can be possible, they will hold back and take the easy way in. Projects are usually pulled together in the scrappiest way possible, ie everything on the employees. In addition to all that, often feedback given is not constructive and hard to learn as you try to latter up in the company. Junior staff members take a lot of the bulk of the work without a lot of proper guidance from their superiors. There is some cattiness that goes on within the agency that starts from the top and works its way down to more junior members, making it feel like you are in middle school again. Hours are very long. 8:30am-6:30pm and often you feel overly guilty if you leave at smidge earlier, even if your work is done.
Advice to Management
To build a strong office culture, you should be showing support for your employees while also balancing a client relationship, not ONLY bend to the will of your clients. I would also suggest working... with clients to build better budgets to help activate ideas with the proper vendors/people, rather than let it fall all on the employees to be scrappy and the clients be unhappy.
