Does Allstate Northern Ireland offer dental insurance?

Pros

Work life balance. Good Dental and eye care. John Healey is a face for the company and nothing else.

Cons

You don't need a degree in IT to work here and do the job. Very little other people in the company have a degree in IT. So anyone could do 50% of the jobs here. You start at a low band so you are stuck int he same position for years because they promote based on band. You do more work than others at higher bands but don't get recognised. Managment don't have a clue. New changes in the IT business don't ever delpoy correctly resulting in loads of issues and extra work that should be avoided. The jobs you are given are abysmal and the opposite of challenging. The graduate programme and training is a joke and also non existent. The starting money is also below the standard.

Advice to Management

Get rid of your old fashion mindset. Empower your staff who want to progress. Do not reward people cause they order pizzas in.

Good Dental and eye care.

How are senior leaders perceived at Allstate Northern Ireland?

Pros

None from what I observed.

Cons

1) Corrupt, backstabbing, incompetent, non-technical managers, and their managers, and theirs, and others. A dodgy manager graveyard. Some of them will "stare" at you, just like that. 2) Slow or no progression @ all levels from career to a simple software installation. Nothing gets done, nothing gets allowed, nothing gets approved due to internal hierarchy and lazy/clumsy operation and staff. You cannot access the tools required to help you with your tasks. 3) Says "Change" on the walls, they are rigid. Writes "Agile" everywhere, where they are not 4) Managers, and a-likes who cannot take pro criticisim or commentary. You walk on egg-shells, you're told to "be careful" talking to certain individuals for their mistakes etc 5) Low pay 6) Lack of hygiene 7) Old.. Applications, mentality, methodology, technology, people, ideas, solutions... all antiques 8) Again, the inept manager will burst in anger that he does not undertstand the technical terminology that you try to communicate and he tends to manage (something he does not understand) 9) Attitude btw departments. They won't help with resources. They get upset, us vs them 10) Job description, and the outcome.. Black/White, Cold/Hot... Almost bizarre. 11) No passion, ambition. No one is happy, or feels the reward (that does not exist) 12) Paranoiac... @ all aspects 13) HR driven, not tech driven environment. HR gives you the gut feeling (that something is wrong. and is...) Use your talents elsewhere. With Allstate you'll only activate and use perhaps 3% of your potential and it will not help you with your growth or give you sense of satisfaction

Advice to Management

The whole setup is suffering from good standart and practices, your model is not working, and it has no place in the future, it'll be made redundant. You probably dont even know some of the nasty internal politics but talented won't stay that's something to think about.

1) Corrupt, backstabbing, incompetent, non-technical managers, and their managers, and theirs, and others.
