Does Ally Financial offer a wellness program?

Pros

Respected company Some great leaders and team members Good benefits, ERG's, and engagement efforts

Cons

Ally always says that they treat all employees with an owner mindset, truly care about their feedback, and always want to keep open communication and improve but I just don't see that anymore. They are cutting corners everywhere due to essentialism and saving money through a looming recession yet, they continue to dictate every move employees make. They said we were going to work with employees and show empathy/be flexible with the rigid return to office expectations but as a manager, that has been the complete opposite. The Senior Director of our department picks and chooses who she allows to be remote based only off of whether she likes that person or not yet she never comes to office. We have team members who professionally shared legitimate concerns about their mental health and abilities in an open office environment that is not supportive of those with ADHD, autism, sensory differences, mental health/anxiety/depression needs. These people were performing amazingly remote for the past 2.5 years. They are professional, able, dedicated, hard workers who contribute and care about the company and prove their owner mindset through solid results and innovation. They are always professional, caring, empathetic, and willing to grow and be selfless for the company's bottom line. Yet, when they shared their different learning styles and that they truly work better in a controlled, distraction free remote environment, they were treated as less professional and able. We as managers and leaders were still made to force them into an environment that is not conducive to their different abilities and learning/productivity needs. All the while they are sinking and not able to perform as well in an office environment due to no fault of their own, yet we are allowing friends and those favorite employees who work no harder but suck up to leadership remain remote. This most concerning part of all this is that in all of our leadership meetings, the CEO, President, and HR have labeled these employees with different abilities who share concern and honest feedback, who trusted us to support them, who were honest with us about their needs and shared constructive criticism about diversity and differently able perspective, as bad apples. These honest, hardworking employees who do the hardest work for our company have been reduced to troublemakers and employees that need to be targeted and pushed out of the door. We have been told that they are ruining the company culture and are a risk. These employees have given their all to Ally for years yet Ally wants to throw them away like garbage all because they can't function well in an office environment. We always say we value diversity, honest communication, and support mental health and different abilities but I truly don't see that from leadership. After years of service to this once amazing company, I am heartbroken that our employees are being reduced to butts in seats in an office to be controlled and monitored at all times. I am heartbroken that we are not being allowed to positively support the needs of our employees and allow them the work life balance to thrive and choose what works best for their learning style. I am heartbroken that these employees who trusted us with their concerns are being treated as trouble makers. Please please please, respect your employees and treat them like the adults they have proven themselves to be.

Advice to Management

Please stop blacklisting employees from growth due solely on their stance on the return to office policy. Please stop this toxic favoritism environment where only employees who blindly follow every dictation are eligible for growth. If you don't respect differing opinions, the culture is going to continue going down hill fast. Please be open and honest with your communication instead of controlling and cryptic. Actually address the problems instead of trying to paint every single thing into a positive light. Respect differences, respect evolving with the current working environment, respect individual needs, and respect the employees at the bottom. This Senior Leadership adoration has got to go. Our employees are the ones doing the real work and the ones who suffer most with this behavior.
