Does there seem to be diversity at Asian Paints?

Pros

Good pay. That is all.

Cons

I was an AP employee in operations for 11 years. I worked in Hyderabad Patancheru plant and Sriperumbudur plant and Ankleshwar Asian Paints plant. The only positive point is that they pay you well. Factory management is BAD. It is the WORST. It is full of boomers. Culture is toxic. Management will encourage you to snitch on colleagues. If you don't, you will be punished in ratings. The only way you can get promoted is by sucking up to biss. Most of the people in high management may not know how to work but they are first class yes men. There is no work life balance. No holiday on Saturdays Asian paints says their values are integrity, standing for each other's success, out of the box thinking, creativity, data based approach. If you actually show these values, you will be fired. Their values are actually : Be a man. No hope If you are a woman. Never say no to boss. be talented enough to run the machines but don't ask any questions. We don't care about data and objectivity. You future depends on first impression of 50 year old boss has on you. Ladies please stay away from Asian paints. You are forced to parties and drink with men. You will be paid less. You are given lower ratings. You will not be promoted. Especially if you are good at work. Men here are patriarchal and sexist. Asian paints favours and promotes boomer men who agree with boss always. Women have no scope for growth in factories. hierarchy in Asian paints is CEO, VP, General manager, factory head, senior manager, manager, asst manager, senior officer, officer. Women can grow only to manager level. NO plant has had a single lady senior manager so far. Once you get to manager position in plant, they will fire you and hire someone else. This cycle repeats. Ladies are hired for namesake diversity. So that AP can look good to public. You are a numerical necessity for annual reports. Asian paints will use you and spit you out. Men will harrass you and abuse you. If you complain you will be asked to resign. In the factories and there are very less bathrooms for you. Ladies are given roles in supporting departments. You will not be hired in engineering or actual production. It will be HR or finance or CSR or logistics.

Ladies are hired for namesake diversity.
