Does BASF offer relocation assistance?

Pros

Good benefits package including 401k

Cons

Unless you’re someone’s favorite or popular, no opportunity for career growth. Extremely political and bureaucratic organization specifically in the Agriculture space. Management does not empower decision making at all levels. Decision by consensus/committee. Extremely hard to get things done in fact those that challenge status quo are viewed in a negative light and penalized through lack of opportunity. Very insular. Either you come from the industry and you’re “in” or you’re a part of the “popular club” or you’re out. There is talk of diversity and equity in the workplace but no focus or action behind the words. As a person of color I was never more aware of my color and lack of certain opportunities as I am in my current role. My workload consistently is several times greater than my peers, no one seems to care.

Advice to Management

Popularity within the company is favored over strong skill set to do the job. I’ve been told many times skills can be taught. This is exactly why the company is struggling. Need more individuals from other industries in executive/decision maker levels to bring true change in the organization. Change out management that has been in their roles for 5+ years. Treat employees from all backgrounds fairly. Put in place oversight committees that oversee hiring in positions to ensure skills are prioritized atleast as much as favoritism.
