Does Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina offer a yearly bonus?

Pros

The health care benefits are the best in the world. The salary is fantastic the potential for making Merit raises and Company Improvement bonuses are fantastic. The company Gem Company cafeteria the employee assistance program and many many other programs and benefits are just phenomenal at this company. There are also several types of flexible work options. I personally worked from home 4 days a week and came on site one day a week.

Cons

Constant change to entire systems or two products. No one person can ever be an expert at any one thing. After 27 years I used to be an expert at an Imaging system from Soup To Nuts. Now I am someone who knows a little about a lot of things and it's not a good feeling. Most of my co-workers work overseas in India or Philippines and the cultural and language barriers are ridiculous. My manager is now someone from overseas. It's terribly terribly obvious that we are slowly being replaced with the people who live here and were born here with a completely out Source it operation that will be serviced from overseas. It made for an extremely stressful situation and I retired early. Fortunately due to the pension plan that was in place when I was hired and saving in a 401k I was able to retire at the age of 55. I would implore you to do the same and save for an early retirement because the stress was literally killing me.

Advice to Management

Stop pretending that there is no cultural or language barriers between the contracted employees and the local American employees. Contracted employees hired to work on two different sides of the globe in the name of getting product to Market faster only makes things go slower because of the diverse ocean of Separation in culture and language makes things go so much slower with the Myriad of misunderstandings and miscommunications and cultural falsifications that are rampant with the contractors. It's enough to make one go crazy and beef so frazzled with stress and health problems that they have to leave even though it's the last thing they wanted to do. This place used to be the best place to work about 10 years ago now I recommend people avoid working here at all costs.

The salary is fantastic the potential for making Merit raises and Company Improvement bonuses are fantastic.
